On Thursday 8 July, we supplied a DJ for a small and intimate end-of-year school leaving party at Nelson's Diner, Kingclere, near Newbury.
What a great venue - anybody who loves the old 1950s Rock'n'Roll era will love this place - it's a real piece of Americana, transplanted into the heart of Berkshire. With red leather seats, classic, chrome finish tables and counters and a classic menu of burgers, hot dogs and thick shakes, it's a dream for any nostalgia hunters. Who cares about the cholestrol? This is worth the suffering.
We provided a two-and-a-half hour show for the eleven year-old children, including a number of dance competitions and a limbo contest. They had a smashing time, and we hope to be invited to go back to do some more parties there soon.
Our DJ loved the "footlong" hot dogs, and can't wait to go back for another!
