Blagging doesn't always work PDF Print E-mail
One of our DJs, Ian Sinetti, warmed up for Groove Armada at an awesome party at Sankeys in Manchester in 2007.  After finishing his set he headed to the office to discuss the details of another upcoming event with the nightclub's manager.  He then caught up with a few friendly faces before making a bee-line for the main room, just in time to see Groove Armada stepping off the stage.    At the end of the event the owner invited everyone back to his place for an "after-party" celebration.  Before leaving the club, two large bin liners were filled with bottles and cans of drink and whisked off to the party.  Many of the conversations were about Groove Armada's set which was a little awkward for Ian as he’d missed their performance but he played along, saying how good they were.  Across the room Ian joked with a guy called Mike about the fact he’d actually missed them altogether.  As it got later, Tom and Andy from Groove Armada said their goodbyes and headed for the door.  Mike then got up and said that he would catch up with them all soon and that it was also time for him to join the band in London.  When they had all left, Ian asked everyone who Mike was and what he had to do with Groove Armada.

“He was the singer on stage for their entire set!  You didn't make it back in time to see them did you Ian?  he he”

The moral in the story - no matter how embarrassing the situation, there are times when blagging doesn't work.
